aiEDU’s
AI Readiness Framework
Introducing a comprehensive way for students, teachers, and school leaders to understand and build AI Readiness and evaluate what being “AI Ready” means in a time of rapid technological change.
aiEDU’s framework defines AI Readiness for three distinct groups:
Students — including the concrete skills and competencies they will need to develop AI Literacy and build AI Readiness.
Educators — including the knowledge and skills teachers need to develop AI Literacy and Readiness.
School Districts — including a rubric that highlights what can be done to prepare schools to use AI.
Defining AI Readiness
aiEDU's framework builds on two important concepts: AI Literacy and AI Readiness. Our organization defines AI Literacy as the collection of skills and knowledge that a person needs to confidently understand, ethically use, and critically evaluate artificial intelligence in a world where AI is ubiquitous. aiEDU defines AI Readiness as the ability and underlying skills to apply AI Literacy to one's professional and personal endeavors.
Progressing to AI Readiness
aiEDU’s framework lays out the key steps for students, teachers, and school systems to become AI Ready. They include ensuring that students and teachers know the basics of AI and how to use it, develop critical thinking about AI and know their human advantage.
