Careers at aiEDU

We are committed to building and sustaining a culture that makes aiEDU a great place to work.

We invest time, effort, and resources to purposefully build and sustain a healthy and thriving workplace culture.

As an organization, we believe how our organization operates is as important as our outcomes. To that end, we commit to putting the team’s health and well-being first; welcoming people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and philosophies; cultivating trust through transparency and candid collaboration; committing to ethical practices in actions with our team, constituents, and the world; implementing high but fair standards with a practice of accountability; and prioritizing the right business outcomes in support of our mission.

We are committed to building and sustaining a world-class employee experience – including competitive compensation, generous benefits, professional development, retreats, and other perks – as well as an appreciative, engaging, and supportive work environment.

We develop a culture where team members enjoy ownership and autonomy over their work, and we promote a collaborative environment where communication and feedback is open, honest, clear, direct, frequent, respectful, and supportive.

We work hard, but we also prioritize fun and relatedness – we regularly gather as a team for social activities and team-building activities; we celebrate team members’ accomplishments and milestones; and we support team members’ personal growth and well-being.

Even as a fully remote team, we recognize the importance of in-person connection, team-building, and collaboration. We convene on a quarterly basis at various interesting locations for our team and company retreats. We use this time to generate the energy and ideas that can only be created through face-to-face teamwork.

Values

There's a unique spirit to our team, manifested in who we are and how we work together. These are the nine values (why nine?) we use to build an impactful, high growth organization while staying true to ourselves. Our values are actionable, so we use verbs we can live by. They guide our work with our teammates, our partners and users, and our product.

🎭 Be Real.

  • Be honest and transparent with everyone about our needs, our wins, and our mistakes.

  • Deliver on your word, so your team and partners can rely on you.

  • Be authentic and true to our values, mission, and capabilities.

⭐ Follow our north star.

  • Have a clear understanding of our personal and collective goals.

  • Make sure decisions directly contribute to those goals.

  • Avoid distractions that deviate from our purpose.

🔍 Ask who's missing.

  • Gather contributions from a diverse group of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

  • Make sure we're inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all team members, clients, and partners.

  • Available doesn't mean accessible.

🙋🏽 Put people first.

  • Spend the time to deeply understand our users and beneficiaries, and solve problems from their perspective.

  • Promote the well-being and personal development of everyone on our team.

  • Show gratitude, generosity, empathy, and understanding to each other and the partners we work with.

✍🏻 Write it down.

  • Document processes, decisions, progress, and courses of action.

  • Communicate why we make our decisions, not just what choices we make.

  • Clear writing is clear thinking; muddy writing is muddy thinking.

📏 Measure what matters.

  • Explicitly define success and have a plan to measure it.

  • Use data to drive your decisions.

  • Measure regularly. Observe and learn. Repeat.

👑 Empower great work.

  • You're responsible for the process of creating work that represents your best effort.

  • Be proactive about how we can add to or improve upon our work (especially when there's no instruction book). Identify roadblocks and setbacks early.

  • Take responsibility for and celebrate great work when you see it (of yourself and your coworkers)

🥪 Build a sandbox.

  • Be curious and open minded to new ideas and innovative ways of thinking.

  • Absorb new knowledge, skills, and experiences.

  • Be humble in recognizing there's always more to learn.

🚮 Be Humble.

  • Pick up the trash. (No work is beneath you).

  • Don't hesitate to get help when you hit a roadblock.

  • Get a second opinion on important decisions.
