In this course, educators will learn what artificial intelligence (AI) is and how to use generative AI tools. This will serve as a foundation for building pedagogical skills for teaching students about AI and AI literacy skills. Through interactive sessions and asynchronous assignments, educators will understand and apply school & state policies on AI use, understand and effectively use student facing AI tools that are used in existing curricula, and evaluate and responsibly use AI tools to support teaching and learning including:  grading, lesson development, modeling for students and/or assessment creation. Teachers will also learn to create opportunities and resources for students to creatively and collaboratively problem-solve with AI tools, model and create opportunities for students to synthesize interdisciplinary and AI knowledge to approach problems holistically, and create resources in support of students navigating academic and career pathways in an AI-powered world.
